I Will Be

God, you do not need to hear my prayers -- they travel nowhere,
because you were with me before I even thought I needed to pray.

I climb you, I live with you, surrounded by you, always in contact with you --
utterly sweetly influenced like a baby is cared for by a Mother.

And like a child, sometime I imagine I am alone and not loved,
even when I know my Mother is just away in other rooms, loving me.

I will be like a Mother to this place you have put me into,
and love your other creatures like you love me.

Lord, I will be kind towards others
and I will be present to whatever is revealed
for you are my Courage, all the days of my life.
